Wireless over Bluetooth — no dongle needed
The DualSense pairs over standard Bluetooth, which means any PC with Bluetooth (built in, or via a cheap USB Bluetooth adapter) can use it cable-free. To put the pad into pairing mode, hold the small PS (PlayStation) button and the Create button— the little button to the upper-left of the touchpad — together until the light bar flashes rapidly. The DualSense's two marquee features are its refined haptic feedback (nuanced vibration that can mimic textures and impacts far more precisely than a normal rumble motor) and its adaptive triggers(the L2/R2 triggers can add variable resistance — the tension of drawing a bow, the click of a trigger). On a PS5 these are automatic and everywhere. On PC they are the opposite: they work only in the specific games that were programmed to support them on PC, which is a much smaller list than on console, and they generally need a wired USB connection to fire — over Bluetooth the advanced feedback often falls back to ordinary rumble or nothing at all. The built-in mic and headset jack
A genuinely useful DualSense perk that does carry over to PC is audio. The controller has a built-in microphone and a 3.5mm headset jackon the bottom. When connected to a PC — especially wired — Windows can expose the pad as an audio device, so you can plug wired earbuds or a headset straight into the controller, and the built-in mic can work for quick voice chat without any separate headset at all.
